On August 12, President of Ukraine V. Zelensky during his video address, noted that "as of now, 174,000 square kilometers of our country are potentially dangerous due to mines and unexploded ammunition. Every day, our specialists detect hundreds of explosive objects."  The Head of State explained that currently Ukraine needs more special equipment from partners for demining territories. In addition, it is necessary to create a production base in the country. The guarantor emphasized that "this task should be completed not in decades, but in years." "The more machines we have for demining, the more special drones we have for demining, the more actively we can restore security. "Thanks to every country that helps us," the guarantor said. In addition, V. Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian specialists who are engaged in demining territories and risking their own lives. "I thank each and every one who cleanses the Ukrainian land from the traces of Russian terror!"  - he summarized.
The Board and the staff of the "Corps for Citizens" are aware and have testified during the coordination meetings that the presence of mines and ammunition remnants in a third of the territory of Ukraine significantly hinders the normal life of the population, the delivery of humanitarian aid there, the reconstruction of the housing stock, the restoration of infrastructure and the conduct of agriculture there. This was repeatedly reported to our volunteers and participants by representatives of local communities, mostly from the Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. In other regions of the country, where the boot of the occupier stepped, the situation is not better.
In this regard, our Organization, which unites Ukrainian volunteers and businessmen and takes an active part in volunteer activities, decided within its powers to join the process of humanitarian demining as a new direction of its activity by participating in specialized international programs, collecting funds for supplies to Ukraine of special equipment for demining and facilitating the work of international and Ukrainian certified specialists on the territory of Ukraine.
